Privacy Policy
Effective date: 2 August 2026This Privacy Policy explains how Live Ride, developed by FloHub ("FloHub", "we", "us", "our"), handles information when you use the app. The short version: Live Ride has no user accounts, no backend server, and no analytics or advertising SDKs — so there is almost nothing for us to collect, and nowhere for it to go.

1. Overview
Live Ride is designed around a simple principle: your ride data belongs on your phone, not in someone else's database. The app has no login, no user account, no cloud sync, and — because there's no server — no ability for FloHub to see, collect, or store your rides, routes, or location history. Everything described below reflects what actually happens in the app's code, not a generic template.
2. Information we do not collect
We do not collect, and Live Ride does not ask you for:
- Your name, email address, or any account credentials — there is no account to create.
- Advertising identifiers, analytics events, crash telemetry, or usage tracking of any kind. Live Ride contains no third-party analytics, advertising, or crash-reporting SDKs.
- Contacts, photos, or any personal information beyond what's described in this policy.
3. Information processed on your device
To do its job, Live Ride processes the following information — entirely on your device, using Apple's local storage frameworks (SwiftData and UserDefaults):
- Ride data: GPS route points, speed, distance, elevation, grade, moving/paused time, and any dashboard metrics you choose to track.
- Dashboard & app settings: your chosen metrics, dashboard presets, accent colour, appearance mode, units (metric/imperial), and riding preferences such as auto-pause sensitivity.
- Planned routes: GPX files you import, or routes you plan by address, for the Explore feature.
- Route names & descriptions: when you use the optional AI route-naming assistant, suggestions are generated by Apple's on-device Foundation Models framework (where available on your device) or a built-in offline fallback. This runs entirely on your iPhone — your route's statistics are never sent to FloHub, Apple, or any other server for this feature.
None of this information is transmitted to FloHub, because Live Ride has no server to send it to.
4. Location data
Live Ride uses your device's Core Location services to record your route, speed, distance, and elevation while a ride is active, including in the background while your screen is off, so recording isn't interrupted. Location access is requested via Apple's standard permission prompts, and you can view or revoke it at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Location Services. Location data recorded during a ride is saved only in that ride's local record on your device and is never sent to FloHub or any third party by the app itself.
Weather tiles are the one exception. To show current conditions on your dashboard, Live Ride sends your device's approximate coordinates directly to Open-Meteo, a third-party weather API — see Section 9. No account, device identifier, or other personal information is included in that request, and it happens only to fetch a forecast for your dashboard.
5. Apple Health (optional)
Live Ride can optionally save completed rides to Apple Health as cycling workouts, and can import heart-rate samples recorded by a watch or sensor during your ride. This feature is off by default and only activates if you explicitly enable it in Settings and grant the relevant HealthKit permission. Data exchanged with Apple Health is governed by Apple's HealthKit privacy rules and stays within Apple's Health ecosystem on your device — FloHub does not receive a copy of it.
6. Purchases & payment data
The optional Live Ride Pro one-time purchase is processed entirely by Apple through StoreKit / the App Store. FloHub never sees or stores your payment card number, billing address, or Apple ID password. Apple may share limited transaction information (such as purchase status) with the app so it can unlock Pro features locally on your device; this is governed by Apple's own privacy policy.
7. Data storage & security
All ride history, routes, and settings are stored locally in the app's sandboxed storage area on your iPhone, protected by iOS's standard app sandboxing and, where applicable, your device's passcode/biometric encryption. Because this data never leaves your device through the app, its security depends primarily on the security of your device itself — we recommend keeping your iPhone's passcode, Face ID/Touch ID, and iOS version up to date.
8. Sharing you control
Live Ride includes features that share data only when you actively choose to use them:
- GPX export: saves a ride as a GPX file using Apple's file/share sheet, to a destination you pick (Files, AirDrop, email, another app, etc.).
- Share ride image: generates an image summarising a ride and hands it to Apple's standard share sheet.
- Full backup: exports every ride, planned route, dashboard preset and setting into a single file, which you save wherever you choose (Files, iCloud Drive, AirDrop) and can later use to restore the app — including after a reinstall. The file never passes through a FloHub server.
Once you share or save a file through one of these actions, its handling is governed by the privacy practices of whatever destination or recipient you chose — not by this policy.
9. Third-party services
Live Ride is built mostly on Apple's own frameworks — MapKit (maps and route planning), Core Location (GPS), HealthKit (optional Health sync), StoreKit (purchases), and, where available on your device, Apple's on-device Foundation Models framework (optional AI route naming, processed entirely on-device). Use of these Apple frameworks is subject to Apple's privacy practices, described at apple.com/legal/privacy.
Live Ride also calls one non-Apple service: Open-Meteo, a free weather API, to fetch the current conditions shown on the weather dashboard tile. Live Ride sends only your device's approximate coordinates for this request — no account identifier, advertising ID, or ride history is included, and the request happens only while a weather tile is on your active dashboard. Open-Meteo's handling of that request is governed by its own privacy practices, linked above. Live Ride has no analytics, advertising, or crash-reporting SDKs of any kind.
10. Children's privacy
Live Ride is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone. Since the app has no account system, no data-collection mechanism, and no way for us to identify any user, this applies equally regardless of age.
11. Data retention & deletion
Your ride data and settings remain on your device for as long as you keep the app installed, or until you delete individual rides within the app. Deleting the Live Ride app from your device permanently removes all locally stored ride history, routes, and settings — this cannot be undone by FloHub, because we never held a copy.
12. Your rights & choices
Because all of your data already lives on your own device, you have direct and complete control over it at all times: you can view, export (via GPX), or delete any ride at any time from within the app, and you can revoke location or Health permissions at any time in iOS Settings. If you have questions about your data that aren't answered here, contact us using the details below.
13. International users
Because Live Ride does not transmit personal data to FloHub or store it on any server, there is no cross-border transfer of your ride data by the app. Any data-protection rights you have under laws such as the GDPR or similar frameworks are, in practice, already satisfied by the fact that your data never leaves your device unless you choose to share it.
14. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy if the app's features change — for example, if a future version adds optional cloud sync or Bluetooth sensor support. Any such change will be reflected here with an updated effective date, and where the change is material, we'll make reasonable efforts to surface it within the app.
